Cabins & Tiny Houses — designed for the highlands
About
Architecture for cabins, chalets and tiny houses in the highlands
Cabins and tiny houses that do a lot with little space: wide views, thermal comfort and fast construction.
We design cabins, chalets and tiny houses for private use and for hospitality investment, often built off-site, in light steel frame or in factory-made modules.
Construction is cleaner, faster and more predictable, and every square metre is designed for comfort and for the view.
01
Cabins to live in, unwind or invest in hospitality
A well-designed cabin can be a weekend retreat, a country home or a business. We design cabins, A-frame chalets and tiny houses for private use and for short-term rental, considering from the start how they sit on the land, privacy, views and the experience of the people who will use them.
When the plan involves several units, such as inns, glamping or condominiums, the project starts with a hospitality master plan that organises cabins, access and shared areas on the site.
02
Thermal comfort for the highland cold
In mountain regions, winter temperatures easily fall below zero degrees. That is why every cabin is designed around the climate: orientation to the sun, insulated walls and roofs, high-performance windows and heating such as underfloor heating and fireplaces, all defined at the design stage.
The result is cosy spaces that keep large openings to the landscape without sacrificing comfort on the coldest days. See also our mountain houses.

Light steel frame and modular construction: fast, clean builds
We specialise in industrialised construction systems. With light steel frame, the structure is light and precise, with thermal and acoustic insulation in walls and ceilings. With modular construction, the cabin is built off-site while foundations and landscaping are prepared, then transported and assembled on location.
That means less waste, a cleaner site, more predictable timelines and better thermal performance, a real advantage on hard-to-reach highland plots.

How your cabin project works
Every project is closely managed by our team, led by architect Patrícia Chimiti:
- An initial conversation to understand your ideas, the site, timeline and budget.
- A preliminary design with site layout and 3D images, so you can see the cabin before building it.
- Construction documents developed in BIM and coordinated with the engineering disciplines.
- Choosing the most suitable construction system: light steel frame, modular or SIP.

FAQ
Cabin design: frequently asked questions
Do you design cabins or chalets for short-term rental?
Yes. We design cabins, chalets and tiny houses for private use and for hospitality investment. For developments with several units, the project starts with a hospitality master plan that organises cabins, access and shared areas on the site.
Can the cabin be built in light steel frame or as a modular building?
Yes, it is one of the studio's specialities. Together with the client we choose the most suitable system (light steel frame, modular or SIP), considering the site, access, timeline and budget.
How long does modular construction take?
Typically, the modules take 60 to 90 days to build while the site, foundations and landscaping are prepared. On-site installation usually takes just a few days. Timelines vary with the project and the manufacturer.
How do you ensure thermal comfort in a highland cabin?
With insulated walls and roof, thermally efficient windows with double glazing, the right orientation to the sun and heating such as underfloor heating or a fireplace, all planned at the design stage.
Do you work outside the Santa Catarina highlands?
Yes. The studio is based in Florianópolis and has designed projects in the Santa Catarina highlands and in other Brazilian states such as Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and Rio de Janeiro.
How do I start my cabin project?
Talk to our team on WhatsApp or through the contact form. In the first conversation we learn about your ideas, the site and timeline, and explain the next steps.
